–Colin Scott –
I am from Bury, Lancashire, I grew up fishing local park lakes from the age of 9, I soon joined the local angling club competing at junior level where I advanced into the open age category, I loved competing in the winter leagues on the deep mill ponds with worm and joker, where I won back to back individual winter leagues, I miss it to be honest. I soon moved on to the Lord Nelson Angling Club, a club that fishes all of their matches on Northern commercials and this was great experience learning how to fish different baits and different styles of fishing, I started to see an improvement in my angling winning many club matches and back to back individual league titles, at this point I knew I needed to move on and I started to travel around and compete on the open match circuit, The main venues I have fished over the years are, Woodlands Thirsk, The Oaks, Sessay, Brookside and Partridge, I started to win/frame in the odd open match and pick up sections regular and this did not go unnoticed and I was fortunate enough to be offered a place on the Garbolino Elton team, where I have progressed on to become the captain. I love all kinds of fishing from Match fishing, big carp fishing to Barbel on the rivers, I love the sport and its variety.
I also regularly compete  in the big carp scene competing in the UK carp championships and the BCAC carp championships.
In my spare time after work I regular visit the river Ribble midweek catching some lovely barbel, there is no better way to chill out after work than in the Ribble Valley.

4/03/2017 - Final round of the sat winter league at partridge today and the master David Pimlott has done the team draw, why didn't he draw every round lol , he has pulled out pegs, 7,23,74 and myself on 100 peg, I have really enjoyed the match today catching across on pellets in 2.5ft, early on sprinkle pot was the best to draw the fish in the peg but as the wind has got up a nodge and a grain of corn on the hook being the best, to steady the rig, I've ended the match with 31 fish for 69lb 15oz,  12 of which being carp which have made a real difference, I've ended up winning the lake and section which I was very happy about as I thought bridgy on 97 and Daz on 77 had done me!!
Best rig on the day was a 4x12 RW Dink 0.14 - 0.10 hook length and a 18 Guru pellet hook.  Baits for the day was a pint of Catalyst micro pellets, a 50/50 mix of Go2 crushed expander and black swim stim, a small tin of corn and 2 pints of maggots.

Team wise we have finished with 14points and managed to claw some points back and finish 3rd overall which I am over the moon about, it keeps our run going 6 years on the podium, x3 first, x2 second and a 3rd!
On the individual front I've managed to finish in 2nd place behind the ever consistent Jonathan Jowett and just piping Chris Weeder, well done lads great result!

A big well done to team Guru on finishing in first place they have been the best team all winter and showed there class week in week out, even when they drew poor they got the best from the pegs.
Also a big well done to team Maver north west a great second place!!!
Well done to all the framers and section winners, a very well run winter league yet again from partridge lakes!!

26/02/2017 - Partridge lakes Sunday teams of 4,
I was handed peg 2 on willow, there's normally a few fish down this edge but with the wind blasting out it's been a tricky one, I've caught not so much at the start not so much in the middle and not so much at the end to finish with 6 stockies and 5 Bertie's (I'm sure the master David Pimlott will be proud with the rufus ) lol to finish 2nd in my  section with 15lb 2oz, team wise a healthy 6 points, and a team win on the day so mega happy with that with 2 rounds to go!
A very frustrating day being stuck in a corner with no fish to catch, not even roach was present with it being in a corner, the weird thing was you still had to force a bite with feed not just tap a thew pellets in and expect to catch, every day being a learning day and you take something from it.
Well done to Pazza wining the match and to Ian on winning the section, and all the other framers!

18/02/2017 -
Another trip to partridge, today Gadge did the draw and put me on peg 20 covey 1, the peg has been funny all league long but with milder weather and a southerly wind I was a little optimistic, wrong again, I've been bitted out for the first hr with roach a switch to pellet brought two quick fish and then nothing, a switch down the edge for a couple, but going nowhere fast, Daz on peg one had 50 fish, stonna on 8 was catching  7 was catching and Micky was catching carp on 2, ive caught a few down the track late on to end with 34lb, and finish 6th or 7th on my lake, well done to Daz on peg1 winning with 95lb, Guru winning the day yet again and showing there class, and only a miracle will stop them winning it!
Some good banter today with Mike Micky Rogerson,
Team wise poor again, and I think it's safe to say it's not gone to plan this year, but we will keep plugging away!

I've drawn myself peg 58, this peg is on a point and very narrow so your very limited on where to fish, it's also been rubbish all winter so I wasn't expecting much!
I have started at 12m to my right in 3.5ft for the first hour it's been steady for this areas standards TBH, 4f1's 2 stockies and 2 ide, then the peg completely died as expected, and I couldn't get a bite anywhere and this carried on for the next couple of hours, switching left and right in 3.5ft, joe to my right had caught up to me and I new the F1's had backed of to my right with the wind, with some ide being in the area I have decided to target them in shallow water I always find a 4x8 float on the drop fishing is perfect for the Ide and so it proved over the next two hours alternating between the pallet and across I've caught 9 ide and  2 more f1,s, to take my total to 6f1,s 11 Ide and 2 stockies, this doubling the amount of fish in my area, I have tried the track late on for not an indication which has cost me, as Micky has had 3 big f1,s in the bowl late on to beat my by a 1lb well done pal,  I've ended with 20lb 1oz and finished 9th out of my 13, another 3lb sees me in 4th on the lake, which is hard to take as I feel I've done well from the peg on the day but that's fishing, League wise Guru extended the lead by another 2 points and now there is 4 teams fishing for 2-4th spots, we are still in the mix for this so fingers crossed we can stay in the hunt with a bit of luck!
Well done weeder jnr with a mega 84lb 15 winter winning weight, well done the rest of the framers and section winners!
We are now 5th in the league, 9 points behind second 6 behind 3rd and 2 behind 4th place, a very interesting league that is going to go right to the wire for the final podium places

Partridge winter lg 22-1-2017
A mega round was needed today to claw some points back,
At the draw oh dear it's been horrendous to be honest!
Peg 17 steady, peg 30 terrible peg 63 terrible peg 79 steady, team wise 24 points and actually 4th which I was surprised at, on the day however team Guru have blitz the match with 10 points, well done lads and are now miles in front and I can't see it changing!

On a personal note I've fished a pretty good match and managed 4th on my lake and won the section, I've caught 9 ide 8 f1 and 1 mirror, caught to my left early on and then wayne caught 4 fish across and I new I had to make the move I plumbed a meter short of my limit and caught 4 more which made the difference tbh, I'm happy with keeping my run going, I just hope we can stay in touching distance for 2nd and 3rd!
Onto the next one!

29/01/2017 Partridge lakes Sunday teams of 4.
I have done the team draw for a change and I've drawn shaun on piper 26, Pete on Spey 18, Pazza on willow 4 and myself peg 151 on pool 6.
A steady draw by all accounts but with the lakes frozen I feel it's a real leveller and you just Neva know!
I had sir Harry for company on the next peg but thank fully not in my section.
I've broke two channels one left at 14m and one to my right at the point in 14m, I've started to the point in 4ft I've fished this for 25 mins without a tremble, by this point Harry had 3 fish and the lad on 155 2 fish so i switched round to my left in 4ft and again not a bite, 55 mins gone and if I'm honest starting to worry, a switch back to the point and a couple of quick bites, thank fully a fish in the net, no real pattern today for me I just feel I was catching an odd snatcher as the fish then backed off under the ice, a late flurry down the middle to end on 18lb 13oz and second in the section! Rig wise a strung out 4x12 RW Maggie to a 0.9 Garbo line hook length finished off with a 20's Guru pellet hook was the best rig of the day.
Well done to John Conway on the section win from peg 146, with 20lb 8oz and well done sir Harry with a lake win on the next but 1 peg with 30lb, that's my run come to an end, 11 sections on the bounce, and I certainly can't complain with a run like that!
Overall the match has fished well needing 41lb to win the match and 34lb for 6th, also most sections being won with 20lb+ so a nice match to be involved in.
A quick chat after the match to find out my team mates had all come second in their sections also, so 8 points on the day and  a team win on the day, which has closed the gap by two points on the leaders Guru/Tricast, we are still 8 points behind with 4 rounds to go,

Sunday 15/1/2017 teams of 4, Shaun drew me peg 15 willow, the peg has been good early on in the league and won the lake and not so good the last two rounds so I didn't know what to expect, i plumbed up 3.5ft across at 15m and 16m also 13m in the deep water, I had a quick 10 mins dobbing bread to cover for not a sign, so I picked up my 3.5ft maggot rig and had a steady 2.5hrs catching f1s Rudd Roach and the odd chub, plenty of bites on the drop or just as it settled, nothing for negative feeding though a good 12-15 mags was best, the peg started to fade as expected but all of a sudden the wind started to blow through the gap of piper and ribbon and it's just pushed the fish round the corner and I've started to struggle for bites, I've dropped a nugget of GO2 super sweet ground bait, catalyst pellets and some dead reds into the deeper water to prime the swim, the next 20 mins bite less across I chucked the bomb out with double dead red and caught an F1 first chuck then nothing, a drop on my deep water line saw me catch 2x 1.5lb skimmers 3 roach and then nothing so another look on my 16m line this was very slow it was clear that the fish had done the off up the other end of the lake as them lads started to catch a throw fish, I waited 15 mins for the smallest F1 of the day, one last look on my deep water line for two roach and the whistle!
I've weighed 33lb 7oz for a sec and lake win 25lb being second respectfully, a great days sport not knowing what species was next!
10 sections on the bounce and hopefully the form will continue!

On the team front 10 points, not the best but not a disaster, I'm not sure of the overall results as I did the off to watch the football, but well done to all the framers and team of the day!

Partridge sat winter lg 7/1/2017
Gadge has done the draw and drew terrible if I'm honest(not like him) pegs 18,28,68 and mine peg 92, the thing is I always keep an open mind regardless and just try to maximise the peg, well today that came off and I've fished a great match tbh I have started in front of me in 3ft on maggots and caught 1 F1 3 Rudd and 3 gudge, after 1hr and 15 I've swung round and gone 13m to my left and fished 15 mins with no bites, back to my right 16m dobbing bread to the stick ups for nowt, 1hr 45 gone and both pegs left and right no fish, the spit complaining of no bites I thought it was in for the day, I've decided to go 14.5m to my left back in 3ft and caught one in 5 mins and then caught steady for the next two hrs having to wait a bit but starting to put some fish in the net and with the lake not really fishing I just persevered with it, 3 hrs and 45 mins in and I got too 14 fish, I decided to try the track line but with no bites after 14 mins I replumbed back in 3ft but this time 15m to my left thinking they backed off I caught 1 stockie straight away but that was it, with 20 mins to go I've dropped back down the track and caught 2 more to finish with 17 fish for 31lb and to my surprise a lake win
Very happy with the way I attacked the match today and I feel I got the best from it
Well done Mark Tregear on second on the lake and well done to the framers
Team wise 26 points and a disappointing day, now 11 points behind which is far from ideal
Onto the next one
